Future of Youth Football Volunteering Opportunity - Thursday 10th August

The FA are undertaking a Future of Youth Football project with the intent to deliver work that will help to identify possible new and exciting opportunities to improve grassroots football for all young players across the country. Over the past six months, the team have been consulting with stakeholders from across the game as part of the ‘Listen & Engage’ phase of which a series of ideas have been generated.

A number of these ideas have been shortlisted and we are keen to now further explore their potential to impact positively on Youth Football in the future. In order to do so, the team are progressing with the next phase of the project, ‘Test & Discuss’, which involves a testing event at St George's Park on Thursday 10th August.

On the day, several youth teams from the U7, U8, U9 and U10 age groups will participate in games in which one key law has been changed. Whilst each game is played, observers will monitor the match to understand the impact of the law change on key criteria and its impact on the players, with an opportunity for each player to feedback after each game.

The team are looking to onboard a team of volunteers to be observers. This will be a really important role on the day and provide volunteers with experience of an important national project. If you are able to support on Thursday 10th August and would like to be involved in this project, please reach out to Emma, at youthevents@thefa.com.
