South West Regional Women's Football League committee members - apply now!

The South West Regional Women’s Football League are currently looking for some new committee members ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The league sits at tiers 5 and 6 of the Women's Football Pyramid, as one of seven Regional Leagues. The South West Regional Women's Football League feeds directly into the FA Women's National League, and lies above the Cornwall Women's Football League, Devon Women's Football League, Dorset Women's Football League, Gloucestershire County Womens Football League, Wiltshire FA Women's Football League and Somerset Women's Football League in the pyramid. The league consists of a Premier Division at Tier 5, with three Division Ones are split geographically at Tier 6.

The vacancies are voluntary roles and cover Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Discipline Officer.

The position of Chair plays a vital role in the leadership on the Management Committee of the league, requiring strategic management and decision making skills, whilst maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including The FA, County FA and Clubs. Read more here.

The Secretary leads the day-to-day operational delivery of the league, dealing with club correspondence and understanding league rules. Building strong relationships is key, as are excellent communication skills. Read more here.

The role of treasurer requires accounting skills and knowledge, alongside some basic business skills, to ensure the upkeep of league accounts and process bills, payments and invoices. The accurate management of the League financial accounts is key for the league to be sustainable. Read more here.

The final role of Discipline Officer involves the management of the discipline process and application of league rules, monitoring clubs compliance to these rules and issuing charges to clubs where appropriate. Strong regulatory knowledge and understanding of process is really key within this role. Read more here.

These positions are a great opportunity for the right individuals to support the rapid growth of the women’s game and help lead the South West Regional Women’s Football League as a vital part of the Women’s Football Pyramid, helping to provide a pathway for clubs in the region move from the grassroots game up into the FA Women’s National League and beyond into the professional game.
