From GameChanger to Intern: A Season of Growth, Opportunity and Real-World Impact

Hi, I’m Tianna Cheyenne, a first-year Broadcasting student at UCFB, and over the 2024–25 season, I’ve been proud to be part of the GameChangers programme — an opportunity that has transformed my journey as a young leader in football.

I joined the programme hoping to gain hands-on experience and connect with others passionate about sport and storytelling. What I didn’t expect was just how far it would take me — from working directly with clubs and professionals to now completing a summer internship at London FA.

Workshops That Opened Doors

One of the most impactful moments came during a workshop with Fulham FC, where we learned about the club’s operations and community initiatives. It was there I met Jamie Dapaah, Fulham’s Diversity and Inclusion Officer. After connecting over my interest in football media, he invited me back to shadow Ivan Berry, the club’s pitch-side presenter.

Being pitchside on matchday, watching how Ivan engaged the crowd and brought the matchday atmosphere to life, gave me a real insight into the world of presenting — and confirmed this is a space I want to grow in. That opportunity came from simply starting a conversation, something GameChangers gave me the confidence to do.

Making an Impact with Cre8 FC

I also worked closely with Cre8 FC, a grassroots club in South London, where I created a social media plan to help grow their online presence and highlight the incredible work they do. It was incredibly fulfilling to apply my skills to support a community club, and the trust they gave me helped build both my confidence and my professional toolkit.

More Than a Programme

What truly made GameChangers special was the people. I built meaningful friendships with other passionate young leaders from across the country — people who inspired me, supported me, and made every session something to look forward to. Together, we were part of a movement to make football more inclusive, creative, and youth-led.

Where It’s Taken Me

Thanks to the programme, I earned a summer internship at London FA, where I’ve had the chance to lead on creative projects and build experience that aligns with my broadcasting career goals.

One of my highlights has been working on filming projects at SOOO London — the home of women’s sport. Being involved in content creation for this space has allowed me to combine my passion for media with the mission of increasing representation in football.

I’ve also had the opportunity to lead on projects with female sports brands, planning strategy and managing production — not just supporting, but actually shaping the final outcomes. These experiences have shown me what’s possible when you’re trusted to lead.

On top of that, I’ve stepped in front of the camera to present for England Football Accreditation content. Presenting on these shoots has pushed me professionally and personally, and helped me grow into the role I once only imagined myself in.

To Anyone Thinking About Getting Involved

GameChangers gave me the tools, network, and confidence to take that next step. If you’re passionate about football and want to grow as a leader, this is your sign to go for it.

Be bold. Be curious. Be a GameChanger.
