I had a similar question - wondered if FA would take the opportunity to promote the benefits of the game ? Or if there was any news on the annual Walking Football Week ?
Hi Fay, yes these are all in discussion and will be communicated and shared once confirmed and/or developed. Off the back of the big Lionesses win, there is the opportunity for clubs/providers to host a Big Football Day Event to open their doors and engage females who have been inspired by the tournament. This isn't Walking Football specific but a great opportunity to capitalise on the success of the EUROs for all types of female football. Not sure how other County FA's operate for Women's Walking Football, but the Somerset FA runs League Tournaments and Friendly Festivals. This allows our more serious ladies to participate in the league tournaments and our not so serious ladies to play in the friendly festivals. Works great for us managers as all our ladies can get involved.
Sadly, in Oxfordshire there aren't enough clubs with women's team, despite our best efforts to promote in conjunction with Oxfordshire FA...but we will soldier on and continue to push it as much as we can....
