This is an extract from Law 18
"WALKING
Walking is defined as ‘always having at least one foot in
contact with the ground and relates to the motion of all
players moving around the field of play."
So. say a player - usually showing off - jumps horizontally off the ground and comes back to where he/she started the jump i.e just up and down. Can this be a walking offence? Of course, he or she does not have at least one foot on the ground but this, according to the law quoted, is only one part of the definition of walking. The second part is that the first part must be related to a situation where the player is in motion around the field of play. But in the situation I have described the player is not 'in motion around the field, he/she is in exactly the same place' So, can such a jumping action be categorised as 'non walking' under Law 18?
