Loneliness Awareness Week is the world's largest campaign to inspire conversations about loneliness and promote connection activities happening across the world.
In recent Walking Football research, it suggests players aged 50+ report lower levels of loneliness than the general population, with over 80% saying they “hardly ever or never” feel lonely compared to around 67% nationally, and far fewer reporting they are “often lonely.” At the same time, social factors like being part of a team (83%) and having opportunities to socialise (80%) are among the strongest motivations for participation.
To what extent do you think Walking Football has or can play a meaningful role in reducing loneliness?
