Id like to go a bit further and ask for clarification from the FA whether a gk can pick up the ball directly from a kick-in/roll-in? Probably a good time with the release of the revised laws of the game to clarify this. I understand that in 11 a side a gk cannot handle the ball from a throw in but why is that included in the laws of the game? Is it to differentiate between a pass from a player and a throw in as the throw in isn't seen as a pass? Obviously the big difference between 11 a side and WF is that a gk can pick up a pass from a player during open play so why not from a kick-in/roll-in?
