3G outdoor facility. Full size pitch cut into quarters. Vary pitch size and how many used according to numbers. Local authority owned but managed by a company. Used all year round. Excellent changing facilities and cafe are available.
Two primary location. Indoor facility, hard surface, managed by the local authority but will close next year to be replaced with housing. Replacement centre being built but local authority has said there will be no parking so we may have to look elsewhere.
Other pitches are in a football centre, owned by a charity that has a trading arm. Play on 3g pitches, sometimes 7-a-side single pitch, other times large full-side pitch split into quarters. Have access to changing rooms and a room for cup of tea afterwards.
Local authority has an excellent 3g facility that we have used but is, in our view, poorly managed. Two issues. Never sure if staff would turn up to open the facility and often no access to changing rooms. They also moved bookings to Playfinder. We found it impossible to use. Playfinder wanted 3 months payment in advance at around £1500-£2000 which we found difficult to finance. Changing pre-existing bookings was difficult, emails were answered only after lots of reminders, it was difficult to leave phone messages. We were never quite sure where we were on bookings as except on one occasion, they never supplied us with a confirmed booking list.
