We ensure that the sides are as evenly matched as possible in respect of age, ability and mobility. We also ensure that everyone is fully aware of individual health/mobility issues in order that due allowance is given. We also insist on the game stopping immediately a player takes a fall etc. without waiting for the ball to go out of play.
We currently have one player with learning difficulties and is also profoundly deaf - in his early sessions, we would make extra allowance and not penalise him for some rule infringements (such as 3-touch rule) but as he has progressed, we have tightened up on the rules, which he respects.
We feel that playing to the rules on walking, non-contact and 3-touch generally ensures that the game is fair to all players....
