Have your thoughts regarding ‘International’ representative teams changed over the years?

I must admit to always having been against the idea of the ‘International’ representative teams. I have known for many years that the FA have been against the idea and it certainly figures nowhere on their current list of priorities and this is certainly valid when it is far more important to get the grassroots level of walking football more solid and consistent, but for those that wish to invest their time and money into organising and playing for these teams then I fully understand that you are offering opportunity for many to make valuable memories. So good luck to all involved but sometimes perhaps perhaps approach it from a more realistic viewpoint?

  • No, it seems to me to be just a big mess and getting more confusing. As walking football has grown, I find my time being used up just dealing with the increasing demand for sessions, getting members to volunteer to run and referee sessions, league bureaucracy. As a club our policy is that we do not encourage players to get involved in national teams, for example do not fund petrol money or overnight stays, but do not stop members if they want to pursue this option.
