Walking Football - Unification of Laws of The Game Consultation

As Walking Football continues to grow, The FA and the Walking Football Association have been engaged in positive discussions to explore ways that harness the collective passion for Walking Football and allows the game to truly thrive.

Our shared ambition is to establish a unified approach that enables Walking Football to reach its full potential, in collaboration with key stakeholders across the game. As part of this, we are reviewing the current Laws of the Game, and the possibility of developing a single, unifying set of laws to support future growth.

To inform this work, we have created a short survey to gather views from everyone involved the game. We want to understand your thoughts on the potential unification of the Laws of the Game, and gather further information on what should be taken into account as we continue this process.

  • I'm sure 99% of walking footballers would agree that it's way overdue. But the FA and WFA  need to be aware that the creator of walking football who is also our President of Chesterfield Senior Spireites and Chairman of Chesterfield Community Trust John Croot was invited to the launch of UEFA's walking football toolkit in September 2024 in Milan. UEFA have adopted the basics of the original 'Chesterfield rules' and expanded them into 2 parts - recreational play and competitive play. The basis of unification is already one step up the pyramid, so It might be good to have a 3 way conversation between The FA, The WFA and UEFA.. For info :- www.uefa.com/.../
