Laws of Walking Football Review

Laws of Walking Football Review

The current version of the FA Laws of Walking Football (the ‘Laws’) were introduced in June 2019 and have been revised annually to ensure that the Laws of the Game stay relevant to the development and growth of the game, whilst maintaining the core values of safety and enjoyment for all players.

Through the County FA network, submissions were made to amend Laws, propose new changes, and clarify some wording. The significant proposed changes were made against players’ equipment, height restrictions, Denial of Obvious Goalscoring Opportunities, and sanctions for not walking offences. Furthermore, this year saw the need to trial some of the proposed Law amendments to better understand the impact of making any changes with an evidence-based approach.

The proposed changes will be reviewed by The FA Walking Football Advisory Group before being ratified by FA Referee team.

As valued leaders within the Walking Football community, we would like to give you the opportunity to share your thoughts on the proposed changes before they are agreed for this year. Over the next week or so, we will share these proposed changes and would welcome your views. Please note that these changes will continue to be reviewed annually, and additional trials carried out as deemed necessary.

Please do not share this information beyond the online community at this stage.
