At the Community Shield (the day before England won the Euros) we celebrated the national winners of the England Football and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards for 2022.

These awards are to recognise people who make a positive difference. It’s our way to celebrate some of the fantastic individuals who put their heart and soul into the grassroots game across England – and say a huge thank you to the incredible number of volunteers who inspire us all.

This season our Grassroots volunteers showed the true power of football, they stuck together, helped each other and showed what the football can do to help the wider community.
