Cambourne Town FC is England Football's National Grassroots Club of the Year and Cambridgeshire FA Grassroots Club of the Year for 2023.
The Club was established in the 2021-22 season to form a single football club for the local community. The outcome is the formation of one of the largest clubs in Cambridgeshire, covering junior and adult football for boys, girls, men and women. A total of 40 teams now within our club.
Cambs FA have granted us Hub Club status, something which provides extended support and investment to the football community within Cambourne above what it currently receives. The support of the town council also means the vision for the club will be easier to realise over time. Involvement of the adult age teams within the club structure will provide a natural pathway to adult football for children in Cambourne.
Our club vision:
To provide inclusive football to players of all ages and abilities, in a safe, friendly and fun environment
To deliver age-appropriate coaching to support long-term playing and personal development
Help develop better players and coaches
To encourage all players to try their best and achieve their full potential
To offer a challenging but supportive environment where players learn from their mistakes without undue pressure and anxiety
Promote excellence including good behaviour and respect for others
As part of the vision for the longer term we are also developing football in the local community, by offering walking and disability football.
Better facilities mean safer and more productive training sessions, reducing the risk of injuries. They also attract quality coaching talent, elevating the level of play. But it's not just about football; it's about building a sense of belonging and unity among our youth.
Community engagement is the heart of this transformation. It's about turning a football field into a hub for social interaction, a place where neighbours become friends and families share memories. It's about hosting events, workshops, and fundraisers that bring everyone together.
Supporting our youth football teams isn't just about a game; it's about investing in our future. Improved facilities and increased community engagement are the keys to unlocking their full potential. Let's come together, make a difference, and watch our town's young stars shine brighter than ever.
