drills

hi everyone can any one set out pacific drill that incorporate  first touch look up and pass or first touch and find space. or  do i split technical down into separate drills and incorporate all three at end in one drill  for u8s    without taking the ball out of the drill  sounds easy on paper but am finding it hard  to show kids  receive control scan progress. av been trying developments drills but am thinking there a lot to take in over 4 or 5 structured drills for the outcome of lets say 2 to 3 second worth of ball time i have seen and observed passing ability  progress with passing drills  ....maybe am barking up wrong tree or worse trying to push ability  and should be more basic for longer during sessions and have tried that approach and find flat points and see more enthusiasm for new different drills which brakes the rule but seem to push the fun factor to them on learning ..av always  thought same model different approach but now am thinking i may be overloading  .....

  • Hi Shaun,

as a technical session or practice I would break down the stages into smaller chunks rather than focusing on all three skills at once. Focus on the touch. Teach it. Allow them to try. Talk about how can we improve? Scan. Intro scan. Teach it. Practise it. Then the pass etc.

allow them chances and time to put this into action in a more larger scaled game. 2v2 3v3s etc. then teach this skills within the game. Gentle reminders, good examples etc
