Grassroots U11 help: Developing technical skills as you progress up ability levels

Hi,

Looking for some insight form the community please.

I have an U11 team that has developed really well over the past 12 months and as we moved to 9v9 we've been moved up two divisions/sections to correctly ability match us with other teams.

The new season has started pretty well for them played 5, won 3 and lost 2 so it feels like we're in the right place. However, I feel like the quality of football they are playing has dropped significantly and I can't put my finger on why?

Are they getting less time on the ball and it's highlighting the need to develop the technical corner with a bit more focus. Physically the game is faster and more aggressive so have they lost confidence to stay on the ball through fear of a mistake being punished etc.

They are a resilient bunch and I'm sure they'll continue to compete at their current level but I'm curious as to others thoughts on where I should be focusing training and development time in order to develop their abilities alongside their naturel determination.

Cheers
