Catch 22

Hi all,

Within our local area there is no Futsal on offer. I am really keen to get it up and running. The Community Football Club I'm involved with and coach for are keen. I've been in contact with the CFA (Lincolnshire) and they're keen and very supportive of the project. The difficult thing is the lack of National coach Futsal courses to get up to speed with how best to deliver taster sessions and training when starting up a new Setup.

How have other people managed this?

We have the facilities. I have the access to players. We have the Club set up in place. But I'm cautious of launching the taster sessions and project to early without any experience or knowledge of Futsal or coaching it. I have done the Intro to Coaching Futsal course. But, let's be honest that's just to spark a bit of knowledge and interest in it.

Has anyone else gone through the process of starting from scratch with their clubs and/or in their areas? How do you approach it and deal with it?

I missed the May course due to it being oversubscribed and a booking error on my system. Really keen to get going and try to offer something really positive on behalf of the club in our local community. Are there any other courses etc to get up to standard with the coaching and deliverance of Futsal training while I await new FA course dates and then hope I'm actually free to attend (as courses seem extremely few and far between)

All help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Rob.
