FA National Futsal Course Day 1 thoughts

Hi all.
It was Day 1 of 2 FA National Futsal Courses this time last week.

How did you find it?

Having had a week to digest the content, what are your big takeaways?

Has anyone had a go at applying any of the content to their settings?

What has worked and what hasn’t?

Hopefully you’ve found your way to the game guide to help you consolidate some of the messages.

We look forward to hearing what you’ve been up to.

  • Really enjoyed the day, the content was thought provoking and delivered in such a way that you could translate it straight into your own sessions.
Although I’ve not yet had the opportunity to work with my players on the court, I’ve been busy planning the first tranche of practices which I hope will create a fun and enjoyable introduction to futsal for them.

It’s great you feel it could be translated straight into your sessions. The order in which the content is delivered is intended to support this. If we make sure:

    1. we play to the laws of the game and

    2. the teams are set up with some simple structure when attacking and defending

We can then use very simple games to share with the players some key details which will help them perform the core skills more effectively.

Then on day 2 we will look at how 2 players can work together before building in set pieces and the fly goalkeeper to the full game.

Let us know how it goes when you get the chance.
