Into to coaching final test

I  have just completed my intro to coaching missed the live session but I did go back and register for the webinar. I am 80% complete but I am unable to attempt the finale test it just say you need to be a member of the group. Can someone please give me advice

  • Same did you get yours sorted as I still can not go to the final text, it says release date 21st of the month its the 25th today

  • I'm still stuck if someone can confirm they have completed with just Playmaker as the prerequisite in which case the message barring from the test is just misleading?

  • you have to have safeguarding for children and the introduction to first aid in football

Please note that there is also a course entitled BT Playmaker by England Football. This is an introduction to working in football and is for anyone who wants to help on a football activity/project or in a club (e.g. Assistant Coaches). This course includes the topic ‘Safeguarding for All’. If a person completes this as part of The FA Playmaker course, they do not need to complete Safeguarding For All course as well.

This clearly states Playmaker covers Safeguarding.

The prerequisites to Coaching is only Playmaker. I have that and so could enrol. You get to the final assessment and it says you need more.

My club said the route to coaching was either Safeguarding and First Aid at 30 GBP each or 100 GBP for full coaching which they recommended.

If you need additional courses it should be part of the enrolment criteria and not when you are about to complete!

Also from the details above it isn't clear.

Having paid my 100 GBP for a course and unable to complete I would expect some response from the course officialdom (no response to ticket raised and email)

  • Hi Allen

I am just telling you what i know I am just a coach, manager who had the same issue as you, safeguarding for children is not safe guarding for all, despite the title says all, and the first aid course as far as I know is separate again, I did the two required courses before i did the intro to football course and it seemed to now work.

I found this if it helps you, best of luck

Being an EE Playmaker will put you in a great position to take up a supporting role alongside a qualified coach or volunteer.

However, you won't quite be eligible for a leading role.

If a lead role is in your plans, that's great! You then have the option of becoming an FA Lead Playmaker - which you can do by taking these extra qualifications:

    -Safeguarding Children Course
-Introduction to First Aid in Football
-DBS Check (required if intending to lead sessions with under 18s)

  • I appreciate your responses my frustration is with the FA that if they say the pre-req is Playmaker and allow you to complete the course and when it comes to assessment suddenly add other pre-reqs.  Then you can find official posts saying Playmaker does include 'Safeguarding for All'.

Also I'm not sure Lead is the same as coach it is the level above?

"If you want to take on a leading role, but know that coaching isn’t for you, there are some more steps you can complete to become eligible to apply for 'FA Lead Playmaker' roles in FA participation programmes."
