Does anybody else think 5vs5 is a strange set up formation

5vs5 I can’t get my head around gk 1 defender 2 in middle and 1 striker. I try to ask the other team coaches 2 play 6vs6 in order to have a formation that to me makes more sense gk 2 defender 2 in the middle 1 striker

does anybody else do this ?

This format also allows you to think about in and out of possession formations/roles and responsibility. Introduce the principles of play and it’s a solid foundation for the future
