Young-Adult coaching (Autistic)

Hi everyone, I am Stevie a 17 year old who has finished the introduction to coaching, FA/EE Playmaker and Safeguarding courses. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me on how I can get involved with football coaching in my local area in Torbay. I am starting kinda at the end of being young turning into an adult as I am hoping to turn this into a full time job hopefully at some point in my future however with a lack of experience at high levels there may be struggles. I am willing to take the risks necessary to make progress and any advice & information would be much appreciated.

    Hi Stevie, I am sure that you are going to get a lot of good advice here but I'd like to add something different that we in Surrey are initiating. Surrey FA has an active Youth Forum, a great bunch of footballing youngsters providing a voice and views of the younger members of the footballing community here. Ask your local FA if they have a Youth Forum and talk to them. Surrey Football Coaches Association (formed 1965 and I believe the last remaining independent Association - pleased to be shown wrong) is working with Surrey FA (Hats off to them!) and its Youth Forum on a session aimed specifically at keeping youth players involved in their clubs, in the game, through coaching (refereeing, volunteering) . The session is still taking shape but we (planners) have a lot of interest from local clubs keen to engage older teens. Appreciate you are many miles away from us but I will take views of anyone, especially young players, that have positive and negative experiences of staying in the game, and specifically coaching.
