Can anyone tell me if there's any way players can play down a year rather than up?

A friend's son is small for his age and doesn't want to play in the u13 age group because they're all much bigger than him. Would it be possible for him to play u12s?

Similar to Shane - our FA require the player, or rather their parent to apply, rather than the club. Best to check in with your Equality contact at your FA who should be able to guide you.
