Presentation day

Hello just about to finish my first season coaching an u9s team. And we have presentation day coming up soon. I'm after some ideas and advice on the awards, and any fun things to do?

They will all obviously be focused on the 4 big awards, so want to take their minds off of them as they all can't win those. I have stated only 1 player can win one big award so it's shared around as much as possible. Also thought I could have sweets to hand out for moments of the season or have other smaller awards for sweets e.g. most positive attitude, most helpful etc. So they all feel they get included.

Any thoughts?

  • Hi Chris, at the end of last season i gave the players a piece of paper each, with the names of all the players on. Next to each players name I asked them to write a word or phrase that reflected a strength of that player. By the end I had 12 positive words/statements for each player. I then designed this into a poster, attached, printed it out and gave it to each boy in a picture frame and said, if you're ever feeling abit low or doubting yourself, just read this, this is what YOUR team mates think of you. Beats any trophy. Went down really well.
