Hi Neal, I hope all is well..
In short, there are a number of new and exciting initiatives almost ready to launch across the Grassroots Disability Pathway. So, keep your eye firmly on this space as these include a Coaching Disabled Footballers e-module with face to face CPD as well as specific programmes around coach mentoring and tangible support specifically for the age group you mention. These resources and offers are literally in final build currently. Once we have more specifics I will be sure to signpost the resources accordingly.
Best regards
Darren
Hi Darren,
Thank you for the reply. I look forward to the new initiatives being launched and using the resources.
Any further information you have in future would be great to access.
Thanks
Hi Darren, I was just wondering how things were going with the above mentioned development.
Hi Darren, I was just wondering how things were going with the above mentioned development.
evening Neil,
i set up SEFC pan-disability junior football a year ago, and its amazing we have 29 young people with various disabilities.
i take it you hold your qualifications IE first aid, DBS, safeguarding and a coaching qualification, if not then try to get them done.
my advice then would be to do your groundwork on social media ask on there if any parents and there youngsters would be interested in sessions, set a date for a meeting with them to explain who you are why your doing it maybe a little presentation .
then go from there and dont be afraid to ask for coaches to help, the more you have the better for the younsters and yourself
all the best and well done for wanting to make a difference it really does
Hi Lee,
Thanks yeah we have a small group of 4 with coaches working in local SEN schools to develop a partnership. All qualifications are complete. I read from Darren earlier in the year there were some developments with these etc.
I'm really enjoying the sessions and still looking for coaches to support but no takers yet. I deliver sports leaders qualifications and seeing how our young people on courses feel about using it as a volunteer experience.
Sounds like you have done some excellent work to keep the session running and growing.
Hi Neil, yes all is on track for the launch of a new Coaching Disabled Footballers module later this summer! Also, shortly after the opportunity to develop this on a face to face CPD workshop for next season.. final developments etc being finalized as we speak... Darren
