Basically what is a linked coaching session?
Hi Tim
A linked coaching session can mean a few things but invariably it is when the practices you have plan relate to the focus and objectives of how you want your players/ team to develop. So for example you may work on a theme over three sessions that are all linked and reinforcing the themes/ core moves, principles of play you are developing.
Thanks Sharon,
So basically, If I was to take a look at a whole game scenario and take aspects from that and break them down into smaller sections over three sessions i.e. taking these aspects passing, receiving, turning, dribbling, finishing (not all in one session though). Does this make sense to you?
Hi Tim,
lets say you wanted to concentrate on defending and even more specific in midfield.
you could start with a warm up with tag, your practice could be could be a 3v2 in a 7x7msqr divided in half can the 2 win the ball over the halfway line. The game could be normal pitch size depending on players divided in thirds, goal each end and each end of halfway line, can the defending team win ball in middle 1/3 and score in side goals 5 points end goals 1 point
So start with simple tag (trying to get the opposition) link up with practice (trying to get the oppositions ball win it over the line)
linked to a game style play where objective is met by winning ball in middle and being rewarded for it
Hi Lee thanks for the reply.
Sometimes it’s hard to visualise these things but I think I get what you mean.
thanks
Tim
