and why?
Hi Tim,
It is a good topic to discuss, especially it is a tough moment where I am living in China that just reopened cause the virus policy. Fortunately, I have full support of my goods lads and their parents. We kept on training without interruption.
Although I am coaching in a new U6 team. The kids are very amazing. We are working on Transition D to A right now. I splits the pitch into 1/2, the defensive group keeps their formation and have a trigger to press immediately until the offensive group drive the ball cross the middle line either dribbling with the ball or pass the ball. When they won tue ball, attack the goal as quick as they can.
I just told them to keep compact when they defend, and dribble the ball forward when win the ball. They do really get involved and enjoy the session. Also they can pass 2-3 (maybe more) passes to create fast attack occasionally.
I really shocked. I think that is good session both the kids and I favourite.

That sounds pretty advanced for U6!

Thanks Steven.
I knew that is more advanced for U6. But they enjoyed to tackle as a small group, the player can’t obsess dribbling with the ball, it can develop their quick decision making.
I will continue to adapt the session based on the understanding of the players.
