simple let them enjoy their family time in the summer, but i will be asking them to try 3 techniques every week at home or in the park, seaside wherever they are. u8's mainstream.
my pan-disability juniors will have a session all through the summer once a week incorporating whole part whole and pratice what ever they like in the week
Sounds like another interesting way of connecting with and helping players during the summer! How do you organise the techniques you ask them to work on? Or is it done at random?
Re the pan disability, how do you find the whole part whole methods work? and what kind of things do they like to practice during the week?
Morning Tim,
i will film myself doing 3 techniques, this will be starting with using different parts of the foot to move the ball. going forward, side to side and backwards i will then link that to real life clips of famous footballers.
this will evolve week on week with different senarios ie defending, attacking and movement and learning to lift their heads up.
regarding the pan-disability thw whole part whole works really well so far.
The youngsters (14 in all) apart from 3 have never really played or had much involvement in football.
all they want to do is play so we start with a game like this week was walking football, this gives the youngsters time on the ball, more composure to pass the ball better than being rushed and not so much physical contact.
The part this week was bulldog getting from one side to the other, all younsters with a ball at their feet, its great to watch them work out when to try to get to the other end and where to start their run from or even who can they hide behind.
Finishing off with a normal rules game at the end given some challenges within the game to individuals.
Sounds really good Lee! I imagine they find the videos really help them to see what is expected re the technique!?
Sounds like a good use of a variety of games for the pan-disability sessions to a) to keep it enjoyable and b) to work on specific things you are trying to achieve. How do you manage / help integrate the 3 that haven't really played? Or do they just get stuck in?
evening Tim
we just make sure there happy by being engaged its really that simple.
we make sure we are talking and chatting to them all individually, and pan-disability from a coaching perspective has really improved my on the run coaching
All sounds great!
