Do you encourage parents to help out with your team? If so, what has worked well?

Yes! Parents are an important part of the team. From setting up the matchday equipment (Goals, cornerflags, respect line etc...)running the linespersons duty and supplying the post match recovery cakes which the team adore. Parents are really part of the team not just the touchline encouragement! Love them and get them involved so you can focus on your job which is coaching your team.

Couldn't agree more. If you do not include the parents in your team you will be missing a huge opportunity. They are you future coaches, linesmen, refs, admin, committee etc. and yes they can be frustrating sometimes, but that is mainly down to us and how we communicate with them as coaches. The team is: Players, coaches, parents if any one of these is not catered for it will not be the best experience it could be. Include them, in your session - doing your team talk near the parents will ensure they are on board and understand the challenges you have given the players for that game and they encourage them to achieve and not shout out instructions that contradict they teams aims for that game.
