We make the man of the match from the week before as the captain the following week. 

i think they should all experience it, with an explanation of why that player is picked as i think it should have meaning.

i think pigeon holeing someone especially at that age could come with unwanted pressure on and off the pitch

it could also lead to social and psycholgical  issues with the other children if not carefull

i also think it should come with some responsability to encourage the social and psycholgical learning.

but remember some children do not want the armband for whatever reason
