Indoor football Tier 3

Can anybody help. Preferably from FA, or even better Lancs FA.

Is indoor football allowed in Tier 3 for under 18’s. We train U6’s and switched to an indoor venue in October for obvious reasons.

The way I read the new guidance we are allowed to train indoors as we are under 18.

Thanks in advance.

  • What’s the situation with parents. Due to the young age(U6’s &u5’s) I don’t think the parent would drop off and wait in cars. Are spectators allowed indoors?

  • Hi Peter, hope you're well. When do you head back to training? We can chase up an official confirmation for this, but it might not come through just yet, hopefully we can get an answer in time for your next training session.

It might be worth contacting the venue to check what restrictions they need to put into place for spectators to make sure everything is safe and operational for when you start training again.

Some FAQs have just been published on thefa.com which you can find here.

In the article, it states that spectators are allowed in all tiers but only if they adhere to legal gathering limits and following social distancing guidelines relevant to each tier.

In the government's guidance, it states "Supporters, parents, and other spectators must adhere to legal gathering limits whilst attending events...In tier 3 areas: people cannot mix with others from outside their household or support bubble indoors."

  • Just as an update to this, I've received the following:

In Tier 1 areas: people can gather in groups of up to 6 (or larger groups if they are from the same household or support bubble) outdoors and indoors.

In Tier 2 areas: people can gather in groups of up to 6 (or larger groups if they are from the same household or support bubble) outdoors. Indoors, people cannot mix with others from outside their household or support bubble.

In Tier 3 areas: people cannot mix with others from outside their household or support bubble indoors. Outdoors, people cannot mix with others from outside their household or support bubble in a private garden or most public outdoor venues. However, people can meet in groups of up to 6 in public outdoor spaces, including outdoor sports grounds and facilities.
